Brushed and polished surfaces blend harmoniously on the stainless steel case. Each facet interfaces with light differently, enhancing owner enjoyment and reminding the wearer of the quality case construction. Measuring 40mm in diameter, the proportions are perfectly judged providing widespread appeal. Short case lugs, sharply taper downwards encouraging the strap to cosset the wrist in comfortable union. The Pontos Day/Date is available in three “Vintage” dial options, green, light grey or light brown. Their retro appearance confers a classicism which is very appealing. Each variant employs the same contrasting colour for the central seconds hand and the text, “Automatic” is proclaimed in the lower portion of the dial.
The diamond cut Hours and Minutes hands have luminous tips aiding legibility in poor light. Areas of brightness and shade are created by the applied diamond cut indexes, once more successfully exploiting light. A minute track frames the extremities of the dial. A date aperture resides above 6 o’clock and most notably a day display is presented in an arching aperture below noon. The expression of time is concise yet comprehensive. The alluring aesthetics are completed with the discreet crown which neatly hugs the caseband and is protected by the adjacent crown guards.
