Baselworld 2013 novelty : available Q4 2013
It all seems so simple. Yet behind this apparent modesty lies a performance planned down to the smallest detail. In this collection, time radiates luxuriously but discreetly. The new Les Classiques Chronographe models house an extremely reliable quartz mechanism and provide a stylish means of measuring short durations of time. The effect of the contrasting finishes bring out the watch's personality. The case, with its alternating satin and polished finishes, is cut in stainless steel, as is the bezel, with its gleaming surfaces of reflected light. The black dial has a brushed sunray-effect finish that offers a luminous backdrop to the various time indications. Applied hour-markers highlighted with Superluminova line the circular course of the hours hand.
To improve readability, the hands are enhanced with luminescent material, marking the unchanging forward march of time even in darkness, while the seconds hand pursues its never-ending journey. The small seconds performs its rounds at 2 o'clock, and for their part the 30-minute and 10-hour chronograph counters are to be found at 10 o'clock and 6 o'clock respectively. Last but not least, a date display disk is situated at 12 o'clock. This relatively traditional design proves that the twin virtues of balance and moderation are at the heart of the finest achievements.
