Maurice Lacroix, The Maurice Lacroix friends, Javier Gómez Noya

Who is Javier Gómez Noya ?

Javier Gómez Noya, the man who never backs down.

"I depend on time. By applying myself to a sport such as a triathlon, I must do the maximum amount possible in the shortest period of time. As a professional athlete, every minute of every day counts, for both my races and my recovery."

I give my best in training everyday. But just like any job, I have good days and bad days. My determination has paid off and has allowed me to go beyond my limits." Javier Gómez Noya is no stranger to success. Nine-time world champion, the Spaniard, born in Basel, Switzerland, has been honing his skills since the age of 15 and has enjoyed remarkable success. An innate talent for sport? Maybe, but it is his motivation, courage and adventurous spirit that has led Javier to the heights of success. The athlete's closest friend: The time he strives to beat. Javier explains, "In my professional role, time defines my performance. In my private life, time is something I share with loved ones." When discussing the tempo of a watch, Javier remembers a time that predates his athletics career. "For my father, wearing his watch was a source of pride; he wore a Maurice Lacroix!” Today, Javier can identify with Maurice Lacroix and what ist represents: "The brand is aimed at urban, connected and determined individuals; something that describes me perfectly. Moreover, the AIKON is sporty, stylish, accessible. Attributes I appreciate, making it the kind of watch I love to wear!"

It is his ‘never give up’ attitude that appealed to Stéphane Waser, Managing Director; "We support talented individuals who recognise that the only limits in life are those set by ourselves. Javier clearly subscribes to this mindset. In addition, he has an emotional bond with our brand, based on his childhood memories of his father's watch. With his attributes and the values he shares with our brand, we had to invite him to join our circle of friends”.

“I would like to achieve my second Olympic medal in Tokyo 2021."
