In 2020, and at the young age of 18, she became the fastest hurdler in the world for her age group, stopping the clock at 13.07 seconds. And one year on, the athlete’s fighting spirit is still flying high: «My ultimate goal is to take part in the Olympic Games», explains Ditaji, who is well on track as she has just claimed both the Swiss 60 metre hurdles title and Under-20 Swiss record with a time of 8.10 seconds. Athletics: a discipline that runs through her veins. The youngest of four sisters, she was introduced to running by watching them, who are all runners, including the sprinter and multiple medallist, Mujinga Kambundji. «It’s a real strength, and we support each other a lot. We even train together.» With a calm and cheerful nature, Ditaji admits to changing her personality when she takes to the track as it helps her to keep her balance. «My style is a mix between dynamism and a touch of aggression. I am stubborn, once at the starting line, I only have one goal: to run the perfect race.» The perfect race is achieved with one key element: precision. «The connection between my sport and watchmaking is precision. With it not only can I win a race, but it’s also an extremely valuable quality in a watch!»
