Preliminary appraisal

On receipt of the watch, we will make a preliminary appraisal. The bracelet/strap is removed to facilitate inspection. The movement is checked to ensure it is working and all of the watch functions are operating correctly (eg date, chronograph, moon phase, time zone, etc). A full appraisal of the watch is completed, identifying any areas the watch requires remedial attention. A detailed estimate is submitted outlining the repairs necessary and the costs to undertake this work.

Complete service of the watch case

The watch is fully dismantled which includes removing the sapphire crystal, crown and pushers. The case and bracelet are cleaned using ultrasonic equipment. The case and bracelet can be polished on request. All gaskets are replaced.

Complete service of the movement

The movement is fully dismantled into its constituent parts. The movement is cleaned using ultrasonic equipment in order to remove any accumulated particles and dry residues of lubricant. Worn, aged or defective components are replaced. The movement is reassembled and all mobile parts are lubricated. The movement is adjusted and all of the functions of the watch are tested. The watch, including the case, movement, dial and hands, is reassembled.

Quality control procedures

The watch is subjected to water-resistance testing (where applicable). The hour setting is checked. All functions specific to the model are checked (eg date, chronograph, moon phase, time zone…). The winding mechanism (for mechanical watches) and power-reserve, specific to the model, are checked. The bracelet/strap is fitted. The aesthetic appearance of the completed watch is checked.
