AIKON IS READY FOR BATTLE

URBAN CHIC STYLE

The case of the AIKON Quartz Three-hands is available in a diameter of 42 mm while the chronograph version remains a faithful 44 mm. Maurice Lacroix has placed a black PVD steel bezel on the flat side of both of these models. The raised arms contrast playfully while retaining their satin-finish steel. The dial is black with raised horizontal grooves on the AIKON Quartz Three-hands and sunray-brushed black on the AIKON Quartz Chrono. Both feature hour-markers, date aperture (at 3 o’clock for the threehanded version, at 6 o’clock for the chronograph) and satin-finish steel chronograph counters that add to the contrast and mirror the case and rhodium-plated hands. This harmony of style and colour is complemented by a military green calfskin strap with tone-on-tone stitching, equipped with the Easychange system. Appearing for the first time in the AIKON Quartz collection, it allows you to quickly take off the strap’s fastening bars to exchange it with another of your choice. The red flange of this chronograph adds a final sporty touch to this scene.

THE AIKON QUARTZ SPECIAL FEATURES

The case of the AIKON Quartz differs from the AIKON Automatic with a few understated details. They both share a fixed bezel with six arms, in addition to a characteristically-shaped dial with two links that protrude from the case and join with the integrated steel bracelet. However, the lines of the AIKON Quartz are slightly rounder and softer. The angles of the bevelled edges are less sharp, and the shoulder of the crown and the chronograph’s push-pieces are oval, rather than having a hexagonal base. Beyond these design features, the new AIKON Quartz watches and the AIKON Automatic watches share a watchmaking culture of perceived high quality and affordable prices.

THE AIKON LINE

AIKON is the descendant of the Maurice Lacroix Calypso. This steel watch was one of the brand’s iconic models in the 1990s and bore the same design codes that live on in the AIKON. The integrated and water-resistant case, the six-arm bezel surrounding a flat sapphire crystal and the strap marked with an applied M logo made this model with its exceptional presence the brand’s most iconic product. In 2016, Maurice Lacroix produced a contemporary reinterpretation of this iconic piece with the quartz AIKON. In 2018, an entire collection of AIKON Automatic pieces continued the saga. In 2020, the family takes on a new, more urban and eternal sporty-chic look with this extension of the AIKON Quartz line.
