In a celebratory baptism, the new Maurice Lacroix advertising locomotive was yesterday presented in Zurich's main station. It will be travelling over the Swiss railway network for a year as the first locomotive in Switzerland to be decorated with the picture of a watch brand.
Biel, 11 April 2013. Yesterday, on platform 18, the brand new Maurice Lacroix advertising locomotive steamed into Zurich's main railway station. In the driver's cab to share in the occasion was Marc Gläser, Managing Director of Maurice Lacroix S.A. After short speeches on behalf of Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) and Maurice Lacroix, the advertising loco was baptised with champagne before being handed over for traffic use. "Through this commitment we want to raise awareness of the Maurice Lacroix brand throughout Switzerland and provide it with a firmer foundation," Marc Gläser explained. Over the coming year, the advertising loco will travel the length and breadth of the Swiss railway network. It is the first locomotive in Switzerland to be decorated with the picture of a watch brand.
