Tomoya Ochiai’s basketball journey began at the age of 9 and continued with a runner-up finish in the All-Japan Basketball Championships at university, followed by U24 national team candidate. After a brief pause, he discovered 3x3 basketball through street games and quickly rose to become a member of the B-League's first championship team. As 3x3 made its Olympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 Games, Tomoya led Japan national team to a 6th-place finish. His journey proves that with perseverance and teamwork, you can reach incredible heights.

Nicknamed 'Worm' after Dennis Rodman, Tomoya Ochiai draws inspiration from international basketball icons in both style and lifestyle. As a proud member of the ML Crew, Tomoya sees partnering with Maurice Lacroix and FIBA 3x3 as a shared journey to greatness, where ambition never fades, and every game is approached with a challenger’s mindset.
