The AIKON is celebrating its 10th anniversary! To mark the occasion, Maurice Lacroix has refined its lines and reinforced its signature design codes. The new AIKON Automatic Chronograph sharpens the AIKON identity while remaining true to its fundamentals: sporty-chic appeal and Swiss mechanics, offering excellent value for money.

Six claws on the bezel, a play of polished and satin brushed surfaces, an integrated metal bracelet, and a presence that is both dynamic and refined: these are the key elements around which the AIKON has built its distinctive identity since 2016. Ten years on, Maurice Lacroix is evolving the design: the lines are more refined, the signature codes more pronounced. More than ever, the AIKON expresses a personality all its own.

With its new 42 mm diameter and slender profile, the AIKON Automatic Chronograph gains in elegance and versatility. The Clous de Paris pattern on the dial takes on a genuine three-dimensional quality, with its depth enhancing the watch’s distinctive aesthetic. The chronograph is fitted with rectangular pushers, characteristic of the earliest models. It is unmistakably an AIKON, but more focused and more expressive. The Jura-based brand unveils five new chronographs: three monochromatic models with matching dials and counters in blue, black and green, as well as two panda-style references featuring blue counters on a silver dial and black counters on a gold-toned dial.

FEWER MILLIMETRES, MORE CHARACTER

The bezel remains faithful to its distinctive signature: its six claws and grooves have been an AIKON hallmark for the past 10 years. Around them, Maurice Lacroix has thoroughly reworked the case. The diameter has been reduced from 44 mm to 42 mm, while its thickness has been reduced by one millimeter. This evolution makes a significant difference: with its curved sapphire crystal caseback and refined lines, the watch gains in elegance and becomes even more comfortable to wear.

The screw-down pushers have been replaced by rectangular pushers inspired by the first AIKON Chronograph models. Start, stop, reset: their ergonomic design makes operation and timing measurements easier. Maurice Lacroix has also added a crown guard, reinforcing the visual harmony of the case while protecting this crucial component.

A DIAL DESIGNED IN DEPTH

The evolution continues on the dial. The Clous de Paris pattern becomes a powerful signature element. The three-dimensional pyramids catch and reflect the light. The characteristic AIKON hands and indexes have been retained. Two chronograph counters – 12 hours and 30 minutes – and a small seconds counter are arranged across the dial, each with its distinctive rounded form. Day and date indications, practical yet discreet against a black background, are displayed at 3 o’clock.

THE BRACELET THAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

The AIKON identity extends all the way to its metal bracelet, enhanced by alternating satin-brushed and polished finishes. This new-generation AIKON Automatic Chronograph is equipped with the latest patented Easy Change system, allowing the bracelet to be easily swapped between steel and rubber without the need for tools. In this redesigned mechanism, the bracelet-release button is concealed, seamlessly integrated into the watch’s overall design.

SWISS AUTOMATIC MECHANICS

Maurice Lacroix equips this new AIKON with the latest version of the ML112 automatic calibre, offering a power reserve of more than 60 hours. This level of autonomy is considered ideal for switching watches over the weekend without having to reset the time on Monday morning.

Sporty yet chic. Versatile yet distinctive. The strong design codes of the new-generation AIKON Automatic Chronograph take the identity built over the past ten years even further.
